Daycare center in Schladming by ZMP

A shining example of wood construction in educational buildings, the new daycare center in Schladming was completed in just 4 months, thanks to ZMP’s expertise. Sustainable and regional, the project was built using 140 m³ of CLT, storing approximately 100 tons of CO₂, sourced from locally regrown forests.

For young children, natural wooden surroundings can foster a warm, positive environment, while exposed wooden walls create a sense of comfort. This facility can accommodate up to 28 children. Its larch-clad solid wood structure combines functionality and design, offering spacious play areas, cozy dens, child-friendly restrooms, and sheltered outdoor spaces.

The project planning was in the hands of the regional architectural firm GMP Architektur - Gallob Moser Pilz from Schladming, while the ZMP partner, the Christian Gruber carpentry company was responsible for the high-quality timber construction. In addition to the technical design by ZMP, the in-house structural engineering team also calculated the structural design for the project.
