Introducing hsbMake 30: Where Design-to-Production Comes Together

In modern industrialized timber construction, the critical challenge is translating complex architectural models into factory operations. hsbMake serves as the dedicated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) platform engineered specifically for offsite timber construction. Acting as the intelligent link between the digital design office (DfMA/BIM) and the factory floor, hsbMake automates the entire downstream journey from detailed CAD/CAM models to final assembly.

hsbMake 30 marks the next step toward a fully streamlined, end-to-end connection between design and production. This version closes the gaps that used to slow teams down: projects move from hsbDesign into hsbMake with less friction and no extra licensing overhead, external CAD data can flow straight into the production queue, and Hundegger Cambium and Randek now connect and validate work automatically instead of relying on manual steps. Add to that a more refined Quality Check experience, and the result is a version built around one clear idea: less manual work, fewer errors, and a smoother path from the design office all the way to the shop floor.

Top 5 New Features in hsbMake

Project Storage from hsbDesign

Sending a project into production no longer requires a full hsbMake Office installation. Designers can now store projects directly into hsbMake from hsbDesign, whether working in Revit® or AutoCAD®, without consuming an extra license. This means less installation, maintenance, and support overhead for teams with multiple designers, and a lower risk of version conflicts between design and production data.

‍

IFC Import and Project Storage from hsbMake Office

Production no longer has to start with a manual handoff from external CAD tools. Production managers can now import an IFC file directly into hsbMake Office, with the resulting project automatically queued for production. This opens hsbMake to teams designing outside of hsbDesign, removes manual setup steps between design and production, and creates a faster path from an IFC model to a production-ready order.

‍

Hundegger Cambium Link

Running a Hundegger Cambium machine no longer means booking jobs manually outside hsbMake. A direct connection now handles automatic job transfer and nesting, along with real-time machine status and stop-event feedback. Hundegger machines behave just like any other connected production station, with far less manual interaction required and full visibility into machine status and production progress.

‍

Randek CDT Validation

Production-ready data no longer has to be verified after the fact. hsbMake can now validate CDT files against Randek machine requirements before production, whether for a full project, part of a project, or a specific production order. This ensures only production-ready data ever reaches the machines, catches errors automatically at release time before they hit the shop floor, and keeps validation results on record for full traceability.

‍

Quality Checks Enhancements

Color-coded booking restrictions and explanatory tooltips make restrictions easier to understand, while classification-based checks bring more precision to what's being verified. Photos taken through the hsbClient app or hsbClient Desktop can now be viewed directly, quality checks now run during configuration export and import, and improved filtering in the Quality Check report makes reporting faster and more focused overall.
